Shocked to be on the Huddersfield bench

Hi all, I´d like to have some cheerier news but I haven’t had the best of weeks. It really hasn’t been great. I didn’t play on Saturday against Walsall and I was shocked to be honest. I got told on the Friday that I wouldn’t be playing but I don’t want to go into it too much. That was it really.

I was on the bench. After making 123 appearances in a row sitting on the bench felt quite alien to me. It was very strange.

We´ve got a new manager coming in next week though, so we´ll see what happens there. Lee Clark is to be our new gaffer and I think it´s a good appointment – he is a young, up and coming manager and he has got Derek Fazackerley, who has coached at the highest level, next to him as assistant and I´m sure it is going to be a good mix for us.

He´ll definitely be different to the last few managers, and even though he doesn´t have a track record of management, he´s got a good CV and has been in football for a long time. He knows the game and I´m looking forward to it.

Gerry Murphy will remain in charge this weekend for the Southend game. I´m not expecting to play. I would like to be involved but don’t think I will be.
